Switzerland trip- add on Lucerne of Bavaria

Hello,

I need your help with my travel itinerary. I have reservations in Grindelwald from Dec. 22-26th and I am really looking forward to spending Christmas there!

However, I can%26#39;t decide if I should use my extra 3-4 days of vacation travelling to Lucerne or to Bavaria(Rothenburg/Neauchweinstein castle). I have been advised that it would be really hard to travel to those places from Grindelwald and see them in three days. I am just not sure if Lucerne could give me the same cozy Christmas village feeling.

Does anyone have any advice to give on the matter? Thanks so much.
