Arcotel Velvet

After much searching, I have booked the Arcotel Velvet for my trip to Berlin on Tuesday 30 September.

I am flying into Schonefeld airport, and am a little confused on the best way to get to the hotel.

The hotel website gives directions from Tegel Airport only.

Please forgive me if this question has been asked a million times, but I am arriving after 8 p.m. and don%26#39;t want to be wandering the streets on my first night looking for the hotel.

Would I be better advised to get a taxi direct to the hotel?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

You could make the trip by public transportation in 40 - 60 mins with one or two changes.

But if you%26#39;re not familiar with Berlin and/or don%26#39;t speak German, it could be somewhat daunting. The trip can be made using various combinations of bus, train, S-Bahn and U-Bahn, depending on when you leave. Btw, just navigating the Journey Planner is a bit complicated, but if you want to try it, enter the airport and your hotel%26#39;s address and then choose the terminal and street with 10117 Mitte from the dropdown menus. It says the Oranienburger Tor U-Bahn station is 50 meters from the hotel.

A taxi would be the easiest albeit considerably more expensive option.

Unfortunately I was involved in a car accident last night, and have to cancel my trip to Berlin.

I will keep all the details I have collected on here and hopefully will re-book my trip some other time.

I%26#39;m sorry to hear about your accident. I hope it wasn%26#39;t serious and you%26#39;re able to get to Berlin before too long. It%26#39;s a great city!

When you do go, you might want to consider another hotel. Nothing against the Arcotel (about which I know nothing) but it looks pretty far from the action. You%26#39;ll find a lot of recommendations on here for places and areas to stay.

Thanks for the good wishes and for the recommendation about the hotel.

I spent ages looking for one and thought that the Arcotel was fairly central.

It was highly recommended on TA as well.

I hope to re-book my trip in the Spring, so thanks again for your help.
